Class Descriptions


Adult Beginning Ballet

This is a beginning level class where you will learn proper alignment and positions of the body and feet for ballet. We will emphasize strengthening and placement by completing exercises at the barre, in the center and across the floor. We hope to allow you to enjoy movement while learning ballet technique in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. (No prior experience necessary)

Adult Beginning Jazz

This is a beginning level class where you will learn the basic technique for jazz dance. We will work to increase strength and flexibility through across the floor work and center combinations. We hope to allow you to enjoy movement while learning jazz technique in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. (No prior experience necessary)


Beginning/General Ballroom

Prepare to dazzle others at weddings and special events! In this fun class you will learn a variety of different dances, including the Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing! (No prior experience nessary)

Beginning Waltz

Waltz into the summer with this beautiful flowing dance! The Waltz is a simple and lovely dance that is perfect for any beginner and will have you floating across the dance floor in no time! (No prior experience necessary)

East Coast Swing

You don't need to go far to learn how to put a Swing in your step! ISTD Certified Ballroom dance instructor and NDCA Professional dance competitor, Deborah Gillitzer, will teach you a variety of exciting and fun steps for the East Coast Swing! (No prior experience necessary)


Fun Salsa Moves!

Take your Salsa dancing to the next level! In this class you will learn some fun and showy club Salsa moves. (No prior experience necessary)



Hustle

Faster and more stylish than the Swing, the Hustle will wheel you across the floor. Learn this fun dance also know as the 'push-pull' -"Do the Hustle!" (No prior experience necessary)

The Latin Workout


If you're struggling with Zumba moves, then this is a great class to help you build your confidence! The Latin Workout is a great way to be introduced to the Latin dances and steps while getting a sexy workout and toning your legs and waist. We'll start with the Cuban Hip Motion and keep moving with the Rumba, Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Bachata, Bolero and Samba! (No prior experience necessary)


Little Movers (for ages 2 to 4)

Get your kids moving! This is a great class for toddlers (and an accompanying adult) to work on gross motor skills and basic music and dance skills using kid-friendly and fun music! The class will include a variety of fun activities, using props (like hula hoops and balls) as well as concepts like stretching and clapping with the beat. For ages 2 to 4

USISTD BRONZE MEDAL GROUP CLASSES
Take your dance skills to a higher level so you look and feel GREAT on the dance floor in any situation! The Medal Class Program is an excellent way to set specific goals in your dancing. Completing this program will help you become a confident and accomplished dancer, comfortable dancing in any setting around the world, with a recognized level of ballroom dance expertise. Master an entire level within one style of dancing. You will see an improvement in your dancing, poise, self-confidence and self-discipline throughout the process beyond regular group classes. This class offers you a tremendous increase in your social dance confidence, improvements in your posture and balance, a better understanding of cause and effect in body mechanics, further development of your leading and/or following skills and your general coordination, a keener awareness of timing and rhythm, and great exercise for your mind and body, all while actually having fun!


The Nightclub Two-Step

The Nightclub Two-Step is a romantic dance that has become more and more popular because of it's unique graceful movements which are done to the common tempo of contemporary love songs. You definitely do not want to miss this dance class!


Pi-Yo

Strengthen your core with this great mind/body workout! PiYo is a hybrid, athletic workout combining the mind/body practices of Yoga and Pilates, as well as the principles of sports stretch, strength training, conditioning, and dynamic movement. It includes modifications, yet offers exercise progressions to challenge all levels of participants. When performed on a regular basis, PiYo will increase the participant's strength, flexibility, and balance, while offering stress reduction and improving one's overall fitness level. (No prior experience necessary)

Rumba

Rumba is known as the Cuban "dance of love". The sensual bodily expressions are inspired by the fascinating Latin and African rhythms. In this class, you will learn the Cuban Hip action and beautiful, yet simple, steps of the Rumba.


Salsa/Mambo

Add some spice to your life! Learn this appealing dance that is popular in dance clubs, on cruise lines, and hot spots all around the world! All levels are welcome! (No prior experience necessary)


Tango

It takes two to Tango! Learn this very passionate and dramatic dance which is popular all over the world!.(No prior experience necessary.)

Zumba!

Dance and fitness, energy and fun! Join the craze! Zumba is a mixture of body sculpting movements with fun dance steps, high energy and motivating music. Dance away your worries with a “feel happy” workout! Great for all ages and fitness levels! (No prior experience necessary)
